Open Gardens 2018 – Piccadilly Farm – KZN
November 3, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
John and Shirley Mackenzie, Piccadilly Farm, D369, Lions River
The garden is a typical farm garden originally set up by motherin-law Sally Mackenzie in the early 1960s, with a fully grown jacaranda brought up from the original thatch cottage left unattended for many years. The owners are now bringing a love of gardening and roses into the garden with assistance of family and friends. The garden is a complete mix of colours, partly cottage garden with wide sweeps of lawn, well known for the many charity bubbly festivals held over the past few years. There are approximately 350 roses in the garden, an interesting vegetable garden and amazing borrowed views of the Lions River valley.
Directions: 12km north of Howick on the N3, take the Lions River/ Curry’s Post offramp, and turn left at stop street. Turn left 50m later, into the farm. Situated in the heart of the Midlands Meander on the D369 down the road from the Piggly Wiggly.
