We run gardening classes for kids ages 3 – 9 years old at Garden Shop Bryanston and the REEA Vegetable Gardens in Craighall Park. Classes are small (12 kids max) and run from 9 -11 am every Saturday morning. Booking is essential.
Why we do what we do:
At a time when many children are completely disconnected and unaware of the journey the food that lands on their table makes, The Cherry Tomatoes Gardening Club aims to instil a sense of wonder and awe in young children about the process of growing food, the environment, and healthy eating.
It is a hands-on, fun, social, educational, and confidence-building program, exploring a world that is not focused on in the traditional curriculum. For parents, it’s a great way to keep kids busy with outdoor activities that will have them excited about growing and eating fresh food.
