Symptoms
The appearance of chewed leaf edges on lawns, caterpillar faeces, and damage to certain plants and vegetables.
What does this mean for me/my plants?
The armyworm can eradicate entire crops of grains, and cripple a grain farm, or even wipe out an entire lawn.
Suggested Action
Watering lawn regularly, especially after mowing, will drive caterpillars to other lawns or crops. In extreme cases, spraying with a registered liquid insecticide will also work to eradicate armyworms. If using insecticide, spray early morning as bees are not active at this time.
