Feel like a giant by getting the kids to create their very own Miniature Garden.
Our Step-by-Step is as easy as 1 ... 2 ... 3!
What you'll need:
- Shady 1m x 1m spot in the garden
- Rocks and sticks
- Shade-loving plants – Check what your nearest accredited garden centre has available
- Garden moss
- Compost
- Spade
- Scissors
- Watering can
- Plastic toy animals or dolls
Step 1:
Pick a shady spot in the garden. Roughly 1m squared.
Step 2:
Time to get your hands dirty!
Get the kids to dig up the soil and mix in some compost.
Step 3:
Let the inner Landscaper shine!
Plan your garden before you start digging. Position your plants with the tallest ones towards the back.
Step 4:
Dig the holes for your shade loving plants and place them into the holes. (Don’t forget to remove the plastic planter bags)
Step 5:
Moisten the garden moss and spread it around your miniature garden in between all your plants.
Step 6:
Water your miniature garden with a watering can.
Step 7:
Mark the edges of your garden with a tiny wall made of rocks and sticks.
You can even use stones to make paths.
Step 8:
Use the dolls and toy animals as inhabitants of your exciting new miniature garden.
The kids will have hours of fun playing in this outdoor miniature world!
