Your kids are always told “not to try this at home” but here is something they CAN do! Exercise their green fingers by growing an indoor meadow! Perfect for the cold winter days when it’s too cold to go outside.
What you'll need:
- Seed tray (big enough for the kids to play with but small enough so that you can keep it inside)
- Grass seeds (for shade)
- Watering can
Start by filling a seed tray with compost ¾ of the way up.
Measure out your grass seeds (according to the seed packet instructions) and sprinkled it over the compost – make sure you get good even coverage.
Water with the watering can.
Leave your seed tray in a safe place, away from your inquisitive cats as they can quite easily mistake it for a new litter box!
Keep an eye on your precious meadow and in about a week or so you’ll see grass beginning to sprout!
Your little girls will love playing with their fairies in their Fairy Forest and boys can have fun with their dinosaurs in the Lost World!
(Remember, you can cut the lawn when it starts getting too long.)
