They won’t believe their eyes! Why not try this exciting activity with your kids this weekend and show them just how strong Mother Nature can be.
What you'll need:
- Dried Beans – We used small White beans, Kidney beans, Sugar beans and Red Speckled beans.
- Small clear glass jars
- Paper plate
Fill the glass jars with the dried beans. Using different beans in separate jars will give you different results.
Give your thirsty beans a drink! Fill your jars with water, right to the top.
Place the lids upside down on top of the jars.
Leave the beans to work their magic in the water for a few hours, then go back and see what happened!
Your beans will have soaked up all the water and expanded ... pushing the lids off of the jar!
Beans become very strong when wet (this is what helps them sprout and grow in the dirt in the garden. Isn’t Mother Nature amazing!
