Peanut Wreath Bird Feeder Peanut Wreath Bird Feeder

Peanuts aren’t just a healthy snack for your kids but a delicious snack for our feather friends too! Let us show you how to make a Peanut Wreath Feeder for your garden.

What you need:

  • 2mm galvanised wire
  • Wire cutters
  • Plyers
  • Pole to wrap wire around (5cm – 10cm diameter)
  • Peanuts in the shells

Step 1:

Wrap the wire in a slinky formation around the pole. Adults might want to help the kids out here.

Depending on how large you want your wreath, wrap the wire about 30cm along the pole and use the wire cutter to cut the end.

Step 2:

Make a separate wire loop… This will be the “frame” for your feeder.

Leave a long piece at the end, about 20cm, to tie or hook into a tree.

Step 3:

Thread the wire frame through the slinky and join together by bending the wire as shown in the picture.

You can use your plyers to twist the wire so that you do not hurt your fingers.

Step 4:

Now it’s time to let the kids go crazy and fill the slinky with handfuls of peanuts.

Step 5:

Hang your tasty creation in a tree and look out for those feathered visitors.

They will love you for it!
